For seven years, Josh served in the United States Navy as a Search and Rescue Swimmer. During his last three years in the military, Josh had the opportunity to become a Master Training Specialist and a Search and Rescue Swimmer Instructor Trainer at NAS Pensacola. Josh was a stand out sailor in the Navy, receiving a Navy Commendation Medal, two Navy Achievement Medals, and was selected as Sailor of the Year in 2006.
Josh is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. He is also a Certified Primal Health Coach and CrossFit Level 1 Coach. He is the ORIGINAL FOF trainer, and he has been training clients since 2008. He graduated from the University of West Florida in 2008 with a degree in Health Education.
Josh has trained hundreds of clients in person throughout the Pensacola area as well as online throughout the country. He enjoys working with and teaching a variety of fitness levels and helping clients reach their goals. Josh has experience in training for and competing in a wide variety of sports. He has competed in powerlifting competitions, CrossFit competitions, half marathons, a full marathon, Ironman 70.3, the 3-mile Bridge Swim, multiple olympic and sprint distance triathlons, Tough Mudder, Super Spartan, and various local 5K, 10K, and 15K races.
Josh believes in taking a unique approach to fitness. He loves out of the box workouts that combine all aspects of fitness. When he isn’t working, Josh loves fishing, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family. Believe it or not…Josh is also a fantastic cook. He loves to talk about food, and he loves creating great tasting meals.

Kenzie grew up as a competitive swimmer in Pensacola. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2003 with a degree in Marketing. GO GATORS! Kenzie has been running the administrative side of FOF since the beginning. After spending seven years in the pharmaceutical industry, she jumped into Fixed on Fitness full time in fall of 2012. She runs the show behind the scenes, is the voice behind the Kindle & Kerosene podcast, and also loves coaching and teaching clients face to face.
Kenzie is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. She is also a CrossFit Level 1 Coach, a Mobility Coach, and has completed the Burgener Strength Level 1 program. She enjoys training for local events. She has completed four ultra trail marathons, CrossFit competitions, two marathons, Ironman 70.3, multiple half marathons, the 3-mile Bridge Swim, Tough Mudders, Super Spartan, various sprint distance triathlons, and many local 5K, 10K, and 15K races.
Kenzie is the mind and voice behind the podcast, Kindle & Kerosene. She loves the mental aspect of health and wellness, and she enjoys teaching our clients how to make their health and wellness transformation permanent. You can find her creating content, in the gym teaching classes, or coaching clients on the phone. She is definitely the cheerleader of the crew, and her positivity radiates throughout FOF.
In her spare time, Kenzie enjoys reading, spending time in the mountains, fishing, going to the beach, and hanging out with Josh and the kids.

Kayla is a native to the Milton / Pace area. She grew up playing bluegrass music with her family throughout the panhandle and lower Alabama. In 2012, she graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2017, she earned her Masters in Reading Education.
Although she played sports throughout middle and high school, it wasn’t until college that she realized the importance of physical activity and nutrition. She started running for fun with friends in college, and a few years later, she joined Fixed on Fitness. Joining FOF took her training to another level. Since joining Fixed on Fitness, Kayla has completed ultra marathons, marathons, half marathons, obstacle course races, CrossFit competitions, and because she could…a 50 mile run.
She is a Certified Personal Trainer through NCSF and CrossFit Level 1 Coach. Kayla enjoys spending time outdoors, and she loves hanging out with her husband and two year old daughter.
Kayla is an exceptional teacher. She brings an incredible energy and a work ethic that is unmatched to each and every workout. She’s got grit, she is always smiling, and she will bring out the best in you.
Nick earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and his master’s degree in physical education from the University of West Florida.
Nick served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UWF. During his time at UWF, he worked with athletes from multiple men’s and women’s sports, including the 2011 national championship baseball team.
After leaving UWF, Nick spent two years as an assistant strength coach at West Virginia University. He then moved into the private sector where he has worked with both high school and college athletes training for various sports.
Nick is the barbell specialist at FOF where he uses his expertise, experience, and skill in olympic lifting to help others become stronger and more efficient on the barbell. He works with a wide range of people from beginners that are just learning to use the barbell to advanced athletes looking for specific improvements in their lifts. His calm demeanor and quiet confidence give him a unique coaching style that blends with a variety of people regardless of their age or ability.
